About The Role
We have a fantastic opportunity for someone who is studying towards either a BSc or MSc in Building Surveying to complete an industrial placement year within our Property team at Coventry Building Society.
As a student working towards a degree in Building Surveying you’ll be joining a well-established and expert team and the role will be to assist them in all aspects of Building Surveying. You’ll be working directly with the Property Operations Manager and SeniorBuilding Surveyor on various capital projects and repair/ maintenance activities including the annual fabric inspections of our branches and head offices.
By being directly involved in such activities you will be assisting with defect diagnosis, planned preventative maintenance reports and Supplier Relationship Management. You’ll also support our Estates Manager on a range of acquisitions and disposals supportingwith schedules of condition, building surveys and mothballing/ closure activities. The role will also involve using various Society systems and technologies to provide information to your Property colleagues and internal stakeholders to update them on theprogress of and KPI’s surrounding individual projects.
About You
We’re looking for a friendly, confident, and helpful person who is eager to learn more about the Built Environment. We want to hear from you if you’re on track to achieve a 2:1 or above in a Building Surveying related degree, have a good working knowledge ofMicrosoft Word, Excel, a Clean Driving License and wish to gain invaluable work experience with an organisation that has a diverse property portfolio.
Experience of AutoCAD is also an advantage, though not essential. Finally we’re looking for someone with a positive, flexible attitude who has a passion for developing a career as a Building Surveyor with a highly successful organisation.
