**Job Details**

To develop, promote and deliver a programme of public events and community engagement for the We Wear Heritage project. The programme will be aimed at getting under-served local people, organisations and visitors involved in and learning about the heritage of traditional attire and costumes of Brent’s diverse communities.

To work proactively with local community and voluntary sector organisations, grant holders and heritage stakeholders in promoting the We Wear Heritage project in the London borough of Brent.

**Main Responsibilities**:
a) To project plan and manage the development and delivery of the We Wear Heritage project.

b) To work closely with the Chief Executive and other team members to make best use of management and administrative support for delivery of the project aims in accordance with budget, timescales and outcomes contained in the NLHF Application and Project Plan.

c) To develop heritage activities and events to enhance and increase wider access through outreach and networking with relevant voluntary sector agencies and community organisations, e.g. Bring & Share collection events.

d) To liaise with council departments and National Lottery Heritage Fund, community organisations, local heritage groups and small businesses.

e) To recruit, train and supervise volunteers assisting in the delivery of the We Wear Heritage project.

f) To organise delivery of heritage training skills and capacity building programmes for up-skilling volunteer team and community organisations aiming to develop and deliver their own heritage projects locally.

g) To develop a range of heritage and learning materials/media about the traditional attire and costumes for use with visitors and local people.

h) To ensure effective marketing and promotion and dealing with local media to raise the project profile, e.g. targeted marketing with specific audiences, new immersive visitor experiences.

i) To work with CVS team to update web pages or project website and prepare social media posts to provide the voluntary sector and the general public with information and calendar of heritage events.

j) To increase awareness of and involvement in the heritage of traditional attire and costumes by visitors and members of the communities in Brent.

k) To work with Brent Museum on co-producing an exhibition and workshop series planned for the Museum with the involvement of volunteers. This will involve developing new ways of presenting the We Wear Heritage collection to maximise visitors’ enjoyment and understanding.

l) To coordinate the Brent Community Heritage Steering Group.

m) To establish, in conjunction with the independent evaluator, systems for monitoring and evaluating the We Wear Heritage project.

n) To liaise with external agencies, such as community partners (i.e. community grantees), NLHF, Brent Museum, Brent Council, other heritage organisations.

o) To ensure that Health and Safety standards for the public and visitors are maintained and monitored in relation to the events and project activities.

p) To liaise with and acknowledge funders as appropriate, e.g. National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF).

q) To undertake any other relevant duties appropriate to the role, as required.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Temporary contract
Contract length: 18 months
Part-time hours: 28 per week

**Salary**: £23,074.58 per year
