Yacht Broker

Shepperton Marina Ltd prides itself on being the best marina on the river Thames with outstanding New & Used Boat Sales offices located at Shepperton and Harleyford Marinas. In order for us to provide the best marina we must have a team in place to provide a first-class service. The position of ‘Yacht Broker’ for the Harleyford office is an important one to the company.

**Primary Responsibilities**

The primary role is to offer a first-class service to sellers, buyers, prospective berth holders and Moorer’s to maximise our selling potential on the Thames for both new and used craft.

**Main Duties**
- Attracting new brokerage opportunities to the site.
- Provide excellent customer service by understanding customer’s needs and preferences.
- Maintain strong relationships with existing clients, ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Reach out to existing databases and ensure return business is captured as much as possible.
- To ensure excellent presentation of brokerage boats for sale to maximise selling potential.
- To ensure brokerage boats are securely moored, all covers are closed up and the boat is secure at all times.
- Ensure the correct process is followed when securing a new boat for sale to include getting a signed sales agreement in place, and ensuring the boat is in suitable condition for sale and is well presented.
- List new boats for brokerage onto Yacht World, including photos and videos, where applicable.
- Accompany customers for boat viewings.
- To demonstrate boats for sale
- Prepare sold boats for handover.
- Use the in-house management software (Harbour Assist) to log all customer enquiries (leads), build up the database via phone, walk-ins and boat shows.
- Communicate feedback (using Harbour Assist) to owners of brokerage boats in order to keep them updated with progress relating to a sale.
- Ensure all sales documents are loaded to the customers online account and ensure they are kept up to date.
- Maintain the Window Displays at the Harleyford office, ensuring they are kept up to date and provide any updates for the Shepperton Office to make the relevant changes.
- Ensure the Boat Showrooms website is kept up to date with the Harleyford brokerage boats and liaise with colleagues to decide on ‘The Boat of the Month’. Communicate this with Shepperton Marina staff to update their website and add to the newsletter.
- Along with Boat Showrooms colleagues, provide information for the monthly Shepperton Marina newsletter.
- Pro-actively post to the Boat Showrooms Social Media accounts on a regular basis.
- Attend the various boat shows and events throughout the year, particularly Southampton in September.
- Show initiative in finding new listings and buyers.
- Attend weekly Boat Sales meetings.
- Invoice all brokerage moorings at Harleyford Marina and take payment in advance.
- Cover the Shepperton Marina sales office as and when required.
- Become knowledgeable in the new boat brands we represent (i.e. Alfastreet, Piper 12c etc.)
- Complete any necessary training to ensure the Boat Sales Department remain compliant, effective, and efficient.
- Encourage customers to leave us positive reviews on the likes of Google, Trip Advisor, etc.

**Support Duties**
- Assist with the Linssen, Grand Banks and new Boat Sales department as and when required.
- Work closely with Shepperton Marina staff (when on site) and assist when needed.
- Support the Boat Sales Manager in organising and executing various in-house sales events at both Harleyford and Shepperton.

**Preferred Qualifications**
- Proven experience in boat/yacht sales, preferably in the inland sector.
- Knowledge of the Marine Industry, preferably on the river Thames.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent Customer Service skills.
- A passion for boating.
