**Trainee Buyer - Near Manchester Airport (Hybrid 3 office days, 2 WFH days)**

**The Role In A Nutshell**

You will report into our Head of Buying who will develop your skill set to become a buyer at Move Dance. You’ll learn how to become solely responsible for the third party dancewear brands and ranges taking ownership of all stages of the buying process, how to provide commercial insight through reporting and analysis of product and category performance, how to price products across the website together with all of the administration that comes with a buying role. After 12 months upon successful completion of training you would become a Buyer and your salary increased.

**What Our Team Needs and What You Will Be Doing**

You will have some experience within a buying department (ideally clothing and/or footwear) and be eager for the next step in your career. You will be interested in both products AND analysis in order to make the best purchasing decisions. Most importantly, you will be happy to pick up the phone to build solid supplier relationships, be a real team player happy to “muck in” where needed, with an enthusiastic and energetic attitude. You will also understand the nuances of a small business.

**As you develop in the role will be responsible for**:

- Delivering the strategy for our third party ranges with the support of the Head of Buying
- Wholesale range selection and buying responsibility across all dancewear and dance shoe categories to attract our target customer, ensuring the best price and quality
- Owning all stages of the buying process from sampling to ordering to assisting with its presentation on the website
- Accountability for driving category performance, including sourcing, managing supply base and departmental KPIs
- Assisting in the development of the third party supply base to ensure delivery of the buying and product strategy
- Producing meaningful reports and analysis of sales and performance, to provide commercial insight
- Keeping abreast of market trends and competitor activity in a fast paced environment, to help identify new opportunities as well as changes to our existing offering
- Liaising with and building strong relationships with external suppliers to deliver effective and profitable plans
- Communicating and collaborating internally across Buying, Merchandising, Quality Control, Creative and Ecommerce teams to ensure productive relationships.
- Leading critical path meetings within the team, including presenting to the Head of Buying and the senior management team
- Understanding the marketplace, target customer and key competitors in order to develop category trading opportunities
- Generating new ideas on how to grow YOY Sales, margin and income
- All day-to-day administration required to assist the Buying and Merchandising teams and ensure the efficient buying and sell through of product

**You will definitely have**:
**Knowledge and Experience**
- Previous buying experience probably as an assistant buyer in an ecommerce business
- Excellent numerical capability, with strong analysis and data experience to provide insight into trends and habits
- Experience of using Microsoft Excel and functions such as Vlookups and Pivot Tables
