The shift pattern for this position is 7 day service 9am-8pm, variable shift pattern.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to work as a Crisis Practitioner within the South Glasgow Mental health Crisis Team as a dynamic member of our multidisciplinary team. Appropriate up to date registration with your professional body is essential.
The post holder will provide support to individuals with complex mental health needs who present in ‘crisis’ and who require intensive mental health care and treatment at home as an alternative to hospital admission. The post holder will also work closely with inpatient services in an attempt to facilitate early discharge from hospital. This role will be carried out under the supervision of a band 6 Senior Crisis Practitioner, with whom you will participate in formal line management supervision.
You will be required to carry out ongoing assessment, including risk assessment, whilst liaising with and updating multiple stakeholders - GPs, CMHT, MHAU, Specialist Services and 3rd sector organisations.
Being an effective and responsive communicator within the multi-disciplinary team and across multiple stakeholders is essential to the role.
You will be expected to supervise the practice of student nurses on placement, whilst evaluating their practice.
Applicants should have significant post registration experience and be able to demonstrate experience of managing significant risk within the field of mental health.
The post holder will be required to operate within the legal and ethical national frameworks, whilst adhering to local, national and organisational policies and guidance relating to professional conduct, practice and contractual obligations.
The post holder should hold a relevant mental health qualification.
This is a full time (37.5 hrs) permanent post that operates over 7 days between 09.00hrs and 20.00hrs Mon-Fri, and 09.00-17.00hrs Sat and Sun. Long days are available.
The post requires PVG scheme membership/Disclosure Scotland check.
A current driving licence is essential to the post.
