Exam Scribe/reader and Invigilator

**Hours**: Throughout the year we have practical and theory exams and you will be given as much notice as possible. We cannot guarantee a certain amount of hours per month.
Exams can range from 2 hours to 6 hours. You will be paid for the length of the exam plus half an hour prior to the exam so you can meet with your allocated student and half an hour after to collect papers. This means an extra hour in total.
**Pay: £**15 per hours for scribing/reading. Your main role will be as a scribe or reader however some occasions where may be asked if you are available to invigilate only. The rate for invigilating is £10.50.
**Main responsibilities**:
**Scribing/reader**:
- To read and/or scribe for a specified student throughout the duration of an examination. Readers are also required for practical exams here at the college
- To start and end time of exam according to the exam invigilating instructions
- To complete an exam report at the end of each exam.
**Invigilating**:
- To ensure that the exam desk(s) are clear and in good order
- That a register is taken at the start of each exam
- All mobile phones are collected at start of exam.
- That a clock is visible at all times and the start and finish times of exam are clearly marked on the flipcharts provided
- That the exam is started on time
- That if the student leaves the exam at any point this is noted on the invigilator report
- That no extra time given unless otherwise informed by exam administrator prior to the exam
- That all papers are collected and retuned to reception once exam finished. This includes question and scrap papers
- That an invigilators report is completed at the end of each exam
**Requirements;**
The invigilator, reader and scribe will need to:
- Have excellent oral/written communication skills and have confidence and ability to read aloud
- Clear and neat handwriting and able to type quickly and accurately and use MS office
- Excellent organisational skills
- Good attention to detail
- A flexible approach to work
During the interview for this role a 20 minute skills test will be required.
**Job Type**: Zero hours contract
