**Role Purpose**:
This is a fantastic opportunity for a hardworking, reliable and friendly individual to join our Kitchen team. The position offers flexible working hours and work life balance, excellent staff benefits including discounted lunches, and the chance to play on High Post’s fantastic golf course. The position is casual/variable part time on a rota basis and will require evening and weekend work. You must be able to work shifts during the week.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Basic food preparation (e.g., preparing vegetables, and the preparation of salad and sandwich fillings to order)
- Supporting the kitchen team in a full food service for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
- Assisting the Chefs in the preparation and presentation of dishes that are interesting, well prepared and presented.
- Helping set up the restaurant for buffet service during functions.
- Remove and dispose of all kitchen waste and carry out general cleaning tasks as instructed by the Duty Chef.
- Operate the dishwasher machine and maintain the standard of cleanliness for efficient operation, reporting any faults or breakdowns.
- Ensure that crockery and cutlery are cleaned, maintained to the highest standard of cleanliness, and safely stored to prevent unnecessary breakage.
- Clean and safely store all cooking pots, food preparation equipment, and refrigerated areas.
- Conduct heavy-duty cleaning of kitchen equipment to specified standards and as directed by the Head Chef.
- Operate and use any equipment in a satisfactory and safe manner to maintain efficiency and prolong useful working life.
- Assist with heavy lifting and manual handling tasks.
- Attend relevant training courses to ensure familiarity with kitchen operations, Health and Safety requirements, and COSHH regulations.
- Be aware of all relevant emergency and evacuation procedures and attend any necessary training courses for personal development.

**Key Requirements**
- Previous experience in a kitchen environment
- Ability to follow instructions and work efficiently as part of a team.
- Food Hygiene level 2 is desirable (training will be provided).
- Understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
- Understanding and demonstrating food hygiene standards and understanding of allergens.
- Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative without ongoing direct supervision.
- Assisting the chefs with any tasks they need completed.
- Customer focused to provide an excellent service.
- Enjoy working as part of a team.
- Hardworking, flexible and willing to learn.
