Mental Health Recovery Worker

This role is about helping people in the community manage their mental health and address issues that are affecting it.
The people you support will have long-term mental health conditions, such as depression, anxiety, and complex emotional difficulties (CED). You will help people develop techniques to become more aware of, and manage, their mental health. You will also work with other local organisations to put any other support in place that people need.
This role is suited to someone who has a good professional understanding of mental health issues and cares about helping people regain their independence.
**The role requires**:
- The ability to develop supportive and trusting relationships with people.
- Experience of delivering mental health support
- Knowledge of mental health services in DGS.
- The ability to develop good relationships with other professionals and organisations.
- Experience of working independently and managing your own workload
- Good literacy, numeracy, and IT skills.
**Working Pattern**: Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm-with some flexibility required
**Contract**: Fixed Term/Maternity cover until 1 st April 2025
**Estimated interview date**: Tuesday 27th February 2024
- Please note, salaries are pro-rata for part-time positions. We are Porchlight, Kent’s largest charity for homeless and vulnerable people. We’re here for people who have nowhere to go and no-one to turn to. Some are living on the streets, others need our support to prevent or resolve any issues that could put them at risk of homelessness.
