**The role**:
The School for Policy Studies at the University of Bristol is looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Research Associate to work on a new project: The 'Forget Me Not' approach: Co-producing accessible guidance videos for communicating and receiving a dementia diagnosis.

The project explores how dementia diagnoses are delivered in practice, and involves working with researchers living with dementia to co-analyse videos of real diagnoses deliveries in order to co-produce communication training materials on delivering and receiving a dementia diagnosis.

The role will operate on a blended working basis : remote and on-site working as and when required.

**What will you be doing?**:
You will work on a project exploring communication in dementia diagnosis delivery consultations. You will work together with the project team, including researchers living with dementia, to better understand the issues that all parties in the consultation face, what interactional challenges there are, and how communication from all parties can be supported and/or improved.

You will be conducting conversation analysis data sessions with researchers living with dementia, as well as leading focus groups on communication in dementia diagnosis sessions with clinicians, and people living with dementia.

You will be expected and supported to submit publications to top rated disability and health journals resulting from this project, as well as contribute to the dissemination of the research findings (e.g., reports, papers, book chapters, conference posters and presentations).

The team is made up of Dr Joseph Webb (University of Bristol), Dr Jemima Dooley (University of Bristol/University of Exeter), Dr Marie Pool (Newcastle University), Professor Dame Louise Robinson (Newcastle University), Professor Rose McCabe (City, University of London), and John Hyde, Roy James, Harry Davis and Sandy Read (researchers living with dementia).
- You have a PhD, or are close to completion, in a relevant topic area
- You have an interest in healthcare for people living with dementia
- You have experience of analysing qualitative data in a health or social care setting
- You are interested in, or have experience of collecting and working, with naturalistic data focusing on communication
- You have experience of, or are interested in, working with people with disabilities as equals and co-researchers collaboratively on a project
