**The team covers both minor and major mental health problems providing a truly integrated, multidisciplinary approach to prisoners with mental health needs within the prison setting.**

**We provide a service with a single point of access, for the specialist assessment and treatment of people with mental health needs. Utilising the skill mix and services, already available within the prison e.g. Day therapy centre. The team provide the service with a skill mix appropriate to the needs of the users of the service. They arrange and co-ordinate the delivery of health and social care for users and their carers. All care plans are evidence-based and needs-led and delivered by appropriately trained and qualified staff.**

**We also aim to minimize distress and disability caused by mental illness using methods likely to achieve positive results. We will encourage a person to maintain or gain control over their life and the treatment they receive whenever practically possible.**

**As a senior CPN you will be part of an emergency response system across the prison, hotel 5, and be required to be part of a duty roster completing initial assessments on patients ensuring appropriate allocation or signposting to services.
