BAM Construction is recruiting a Finance Business Partner. This role can be based lout of any of our UK offices.

Reporting to the Finance Director - BAM Construction, the purpose of the role is to manage and develop every aspect of the finance function in the Business Unit. To develop relationships and be a point of contact with operational management teams, heads of departments, finance personnel in the Segment/Division and professional advisors. To ensure that all Company, statutory and legislative requirements are met efficiently and effectively.

This role will work closely with BAM Construct Finance Director, UK&I Divisional Finance teams and multiple Regional Senior Teams to develop and implement sound financial planning and reporting framework that contributes to predictable financial performance of the business.

- Key activities
- The role is responsible for leading and driving the following:
- Strategy and analysis - Contribute to the BAM Group vision and plan, translate this into a vision and plan for Finance. Align key stakeholders around the Finance vision, strategy and plan and communicate it internally as well as externally.
- Portfolio Analysis - Aggregate data on BAM portfolio, transforming information into portfolio optimisation ideas and driving the need for fact-based decision making in policy setting.
- Business Management & Support - Develop the capabilities, tools, techniques and models to enable finance to influence and drive better decision making in the organization.
- Rationalize and improve the production of management reporting and analysis across processes, commercial policy, people and technology.
- OP (Operating Plan) process - Set Business Unit Operational Plan financial targets, in line with the Segment / Division strategic plans to enable the achievement of organizational performance goals. Establish the OP planning cycle which includes:

- Ownership, management and communication of the timetable
- Provision of OP Business Unit templates and supporting guidance
- Providing the business with information to support the OP process
- Active involvement in the OP process including Business Unit reviews
- Supporting with any narrative requirements
- Consolidation of OP to Business Unit level reports
- Production and management of Business Unit financial risk and opportunity registers
- Set assumptions for revenue and cost levels and deliver the Strategic plan (SP) and Operating Plan (OP).
- Periodic Forecast Process - Drive the Business Unit Periodic Forecast process, which is predicting the (financial) performance of the organization against the (financial) targets and report on the achievement of organizational performance goals. This includes quarterly forecasts (QF), monthly forecasts (MF), a rolling forecast for the liquidity and responsibilities as per OP process.
- Management Reporting - Develop and report Business Unit Management Information to the organization i.e. Business Unit Performance, Overhead recovery levels, Cash & OWC. Ensure Management reporting activities are aligned with organization goals and objectives across the Business Unit.
- Statutory Accountability - Develop and implement the foundational elements of Statutory Reporting where key controls and sign-off procedures are monitored as an integrated part of the reporting cycle, including formalized procedures for disclosure reporting and review of reports.
- Project Control - Determine the critical success factors, opportunities, risks and performance indicators linked with project lifecycle stages. Provide guidance and challenge in Business Unit Reviews.
- Project Reporting - Develop standard reporting suite of Project financial information to be used across the Business Unit.
- Tender Stage Gate Procedure (TSGP) - Assess the strategic goals regarding business development, pipeline quality and risk-return of tenders in the Tender Stage Gate Procedure. This includes:

- Advise on whether or not to tender, analyse risks, margins and other key controls and monitor sign-off procedures, in line with Stage Gate guidance
- Creating key financial and scenario-based models which support strategic business decisions.
- Position Paper Projects - Share Business Unit Position papers with the auditor, helping them understand the position taken on the Projects in line with accounting standards i.e. IFRS15.
