**Assistant Herdsperson required at Dobcross Hall, Gaitsgill**

**About us**:
Based near Dalston we are a dairy farm with 550 cows and 400 youngstock. The health and welfare of our livestock is the key focus of our business. We milk 2x a day through a GEA rotary parlour supplying our milk to Arla. We are farming 750 acres cropping grass, wheat and barley all grown for feeding the livestock. Contractors are used and worked alongside for all cropping work to ensure the most up to date technologies are being used to provide the highest quality feed for our stock. All our Aberdeen Angus beef calves go off farm through an integrated supply chain. This is a new role within the business to support existing members of the team as the business grows.

**Your role**:
We are looking for someone to fill a varied role on a modern progressive dairy farm, you will be involved with many aspects of the farm,
- Milking
- Animal health and welfare
- Competent record keeping
- Monitoring transition cows
- A.I. and foot trimming preferable

You will be joining our small team therefore good communication, a positive attitude and being able to use your own initiative are required.

Some experience is needed; however further training will be provided both in house and externally.

**Hours of Work**:
We can be flexible on working hours during the week with one mid-week day off and a weekend rota of one on and one off.

Driving licence required, telehandler licence preferred but not essential.

**Pay & Benefits**:
We offer an excellent rate of pay with pension contributions and will provide support for the right person. You will be entitled to 28 days annual leave including bank holidays.

Expected hours: 25 - 50 per week
