About the role
In this fantastic role you will act as the primary expert and interface into Finance and provide insight, challenge and strategic support to the distribution leadership team. Helping drive the business forward through financial and commercial expertise and understanding. You will be the business advocate by focusing beyond finance boundary, looking forward with a view to challenge and influences decisions. Acting as a strategic partner by creating and driving value opportunities to the management team
You will be responsible for
- Working with the Channel Leadership team to set the strategy for the function
- Responsible for forecasting and managing the Distribution budgets and capital investment
- Act as a catalyst in driving forward finance transformation initiatives critical to delivering the Distribution strategy
- Business partnering the Distribution & Fulfillment Director and the wider Distribution leadership team to shape the strategy and understand / challenge the financial impact of strategic plans, propositions and initiatives
- Developing and leading a strong team of c17 people, giving them the opportunities to be their best and continue their development
- Leading the overall financial plan for distribution (£1.5bn), across warehouse & transport (long term plan, budget, rolling forecasts and monitoring risks & opportunities)
- Provide proactive insight and challenge to support decision making
- Supporting the delivery of the distribution 5 year network strategy by building robust cases and driving continuous improvement. Business case development and analysis to deliver of Capital investments in excess of £250m
- Support in the delivery of pay negotiations with the unions across the 28 Distribution centers
You will need
- Accountancy qualification - ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent
- Finance experience in driving strategic priorities in large complex organisations
- Experience of engaging and working with senior colleagues
- Previous experience in financial analysis and business partnering
- Effective team management
