**Senior Buyer**

We have recently announced the creation of Pilgrim’s Shared Services, a fourth stand-alone company, which will bring together some of the support functions of our current three businesses (Moy Park, excluding France and Netherlands, Pilgrim’s UK & Pilgrim’s Food Masters). Its purpose is to deliver a high-quality shared service to those three businesses.

**Head of Procurement**; we are pleased to advise that we are now recruiting for a
**Senior Buyer - Engineering (Indirect)**

**Main Duties & Responsibilities**:
A strategically focused role with responsibility for the management of spend across a range of categories within the Indirect spend portfolio across the Group.

You will lead and act as a commercial representative working in a cross-functional environment, helping to deliver the Procurement Strategy and the 3-year rolling roadmap across the Pilgrim’s European Group, ultimately delivering a robust and sustainable supply base.

You will be responsible for reporting your category areas, delivering synergies and savings across your spend area, delivering against agreed challenging targets, driving efficiencies and change, ensuring supplies are sourced and maintained in a sustainable manner, and ensuring best total cost of ownership whilst minimising risk.
- Develop and manage supplier contracts for major areas of Engineering spend.
- Develop sourcing strategies for each sub-category.
- Identify cost savings through spend analysis and benchmarking/tender processes, new technology, alternative suppliers, non-traditional sources v traditional sources etc.
- Utilise E-Procurement tool for managing tendering and benchmarking processes, including contract negotiations.
- Work within and lead cross functional teams to understand and define business requirements and deliver value-adding projects.
- Develop Risk Management & Business Continuity Plans with key suppliers.
- Drive improvements in supplier quality and service through SRM programmes.
- Forecast and understand major commodity price trends.
- Communicate appropriately across the business, including the relevant market data, strategy, approved vendors, KPI data and success stories.
- Report cost savings on a monthly basis.
- Deputise for Head of Procurement when required.

**What You'll Need**
- At least 3 years’ experience in a Procurement Department.
- Recent experience in managing and achieving cost savings across a range of suppliers and categories within Indirects.
- Hold a driving license and flexible to travel as required.
- Proficient in supplier benchmarking and tender process.
- Experience in contract negotiations.
- Effective communication, influencing and teamwork skills.
- Strong analytical and numeracy skills.
- Proven project management and implementation skills
