The role

As a Product Technologist you will support the Brand Technical Manager /Senior Product Technologist with the implementation of the Brand quality strategy, to protect and enhance the Brands reputation for delivering safe, compliant and commercial product, supporting sales and profitability through the delivery of consistent product quality, sizing & fit, to ensure customer satisfaction, maximise sales and mitigate customer returns.

The team

In Garment Technology, we obsess about our products' quality, design, and fit. We collaborate daily with the Buying and Design teams across the Group. For us, it’s all about speed, being commercial and ensuring our customers look and feel their best.

What you'll be doing
- Implement agreed product approval processes to ensure products meet commercial standards/customer expectations.
- Take ownership and accountability for the performance of your product area, whilst developing/approving product at pace.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate quality expectations into the product during development.
- Ensure the required testing of product for safety, durability, and adherence to regulatory requirements, as/when required.
- Manage relationships with suppliers and manufacturers to communicate and maintain quality standards.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement preventative measures to mitigate potential quality issues.
- Use customer returns data and customer feedback to identify specific product issues, trends and areas for improvement.
- Regular reporting of performance metrics to management.
- Identify improvement opportunities to enhance product quality, reduce returns and support operational efficiencies
- Ensure you are continuously updated regarding industry regulation, certification, and best practices.
- Communicate quality standards clearly within the product teams
- Ensure products sold uphold Boohoo's commitment to delivering exceptional quality, safety and value to customers.

More about you
- Experience in a product quality role, ideally within an online fashion retailer or supplier
- Good understanding of product quality standards, regulatory requirement, testing methodologies.
- Experienced in managing commercial fit & product approval processes, within a fast paced, competitive market
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to use data to drive informed decisions.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners.
- Familiarity with sustainability and ethical sourcing practices
- Experience gained in a manufacturing environment a bonus.
- Ability to analyse data including identifying high returns, returns efficiency, returns cost to customer vs to brand and customer returns feedback
- High understanding of product including the production process, fabric quality and garment construction, block reviews and call off/review high returning product
- Experience to build great relationships with stakeholders both internal and external
