The Parks and Countryside Service team are dedicated to an ambitious renewal programme across Sheffield’s rich variety of parks and countryside to continue to grow and strengthen their contribution to health & wellbeing, biodiversity and climate change mitigation.

Project Officers take a lead role in the planning, development and delivery of a diverse programme of projects for all of Sheffield’s communities. From play improvements to nature recovery, historic landscapes to interventions that reduce anti-social behaviour. The common thread is the ability to engage stakeholders to improve the accessibility, sustainability and recreational value of Sheffield’s green and open spaces.

We are looking for someone who:

- Is passionate about Sheffield’s great outdoor spaces.
- Has great communication skills who can work collaboratively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Has a track record of developing and sustaining effective partnerships.
- Can develop robust business cases and proposals for projects and steer projects through the project management gateway.
- Can manage and lead multidisciplinary project teams in the delivery of successful green space improvements
- Has experience of securing and administering external funding for projects.
- Are solutions focussed and resilient.

1 Permanent full-time position (37hours/week).

1 Temporary part time position (22.2 hrs/week), 18-month contract.

Location: Norfolk Heritage Park/On site - Hybrid working with an office base at Centre in the Park, Norfolk Park, and regular travel to sites around the city. Typically, 40% office based.
