Our Marine client is looking for a Supplier Specification Writer to join them in on a permanent basis.

The Supplier Specification Writer is responsible Reporting to the Supplier Requirements Manager this role will provide comprehensive technical (engineering) specification writing support to the Standards and Performance department, by providing technical expertise into the medium and long-term supplier requirements.

This role will assist with collating the technical requirements for contract specifications and will review and generate the documentation required to support procurement activity.

**THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT**- Marine Engineering Qualification and a minimum of two years marine engineering experience of very similar engineering experience-
- Demonstrate experience and/ or understanding of marine industry technical conventions and processes.-
- Be able to demonstrate an ability to foster close working relationships both internally and with external suppliers and partners.-
- Have excellent analytical and commercial problem-solving skills, coupled with strong communication, influencing and collaborative working skills.-
- Ability to deal with staff and build relationships at all levels both internally and externally.-
- Proven verbal and written communication skills.-
- Ability to collate and report effective management information.-
- Sea going experience as a Marine Engineer is highly desirable.**JOB DESCRIPTION**

**Principal Accountabilities**- Support with technical Subject Matter Expertise into the development of procurement specifications for the integration of future marine and technical supply chain needs for future vessels and vessel upgrades.-
- Support with technical Subject Matter Expertise into the creation of marine and technical supplier requirements for current supply chain procurement to support Fleet Management supply chain needs.-
- Ensure that marine and technical contract specifications are provided to supply chain for future procurement in line with company standards and processes.-
- Support the rationalisation of marine and technical supply chain to seek enhanced business value for money and service/spares support requirements for Fleet Management.-
- Provide technical advice to the supply chain department procurement team.-
- Work in close liaison with the Performance Assurance team on any specification requirements from suppliers for standards and policy set-up.-
- Provide SME technical input into standards, process and policy set-up that involve external supply chain input.-
- Maintain a good understanding of current and future supply chain external factors to support contract renewals; contract amendments or new contracts.-
- Support contract renewal activity with guidance on future vessel and upgrades strategy.-
- Support with providing Management reporting and analysis of supply chain direction and strategy linked to future needs - new vessels, upgrades, and supply chain external factors.-
- Support with scoring of and assessment of potential suppliers from a technical aspect.**Stakeholder Management**- Working closely with Standards and Performance team to identify and generate technical supply chain requirements; verify the technical assurance of suppliers and input into standards & policy relating to Supply Chain.-
- Maintain close liaison between Supply Chain team to ensure that supplier requirements are defined and documented to enable procurement activity to drive.-
- Work in close liaison with the Fleet Management team to provide strategy and guidance on future supply chain requirements and current business requirements are clear and procured.-
- Ability to create and develop good supplier relationships around safety and quality assurance.**General Management**- Able to provide excellent collaboration & facilitation across multiple teams.-
- Able to persuade and influence acting as an ambassador for the company.-
- Able to think on their feet and remain calm under pressure.-
- Any other duties as required by Heads of Department.**REMUNERATION PACKAGE ON OFFER**

£37,500 - £43,000 (dependant on experience) and excellent benefits package
