Plumber/pipe Fitter

Role Description
To provide a pipefitting/welding service with which the fabrication, installation and repair of pipework and steelwork can be carried out, on a plant wide basis with particular emphasis to production machinery and its operation.

Key Responsibilities
- Fabricate and install pipework and ancillary equipment for the distribution and utilisation of high
- and low-pressure air, vacuum, gas, fuel, oil, water and steam to numerous areas and equipment within the plant.
- Carry out planned and breakdown maintenance repairs on all pipework and ancillary equipment/systems to enable the restoration of their operation with the minimum disruption to production.
- Prepare and assemble equipment and sectional pipework in preparation of job changes, rebuilds etc to minimise overall installation times.
- Install, maintain and repair all domestic plumbing and heating systems located within the plant
- Maintain all sprinkler systems, fire hoses and hydrants and carry our dry to wet/wet to dry conversions on the system and extend the system to maintain fire cover requirements.
- Provide full welding service for pipework and structural steelwork; repair and refurbish equipment to maintain stock.
- Comply with Company Health & Safety and Hygiene policies.

**Requirements**:

- Ability to carry out welding and fabrication
- Ability to operate a forklift truck
- Ability to carry out work on factory services and equipment
- Understanding operation of various factory equipment and services: Compressors/vacuum pumps; Gas systems; Water systems; Oiling systems; Cooling supply systems; Pipe work
- Understanding of technical drawings

What we offer
Competitive salary based on Grade 7 of the harmonised pay scales. Minimum of the grade £30,000, maximum of the grade £33,130
