Applications are invited for the post of Faculty Head of Teaching, Learning and Student Experience in the Faculty of Humanities at the University of Manchester.

**The Faculty of Humanities**

The Faculty of Humanities aspires to be one of the most successful faculties of its kind. The largest Faculty in the University, it consists of around 22,000 taught students, approximately 1,350 academic staff and 650 professional services staff, with an annual income of over £350 million.

The Faculty is made up four Schools; Arts, Languages and Cultures; Environment, Education and Development; Alliance Manchester Business School; and Social Sciences. The Faculty’s graduates and its research contribute to the world around us and impacts all areas of society.

The Faculty’s structure, scale and academic range enables it to promote interdisciplinary teaching and research collaboration between the Arts and Social Sciences, as well as between Humanities and Sciences.

**The role**

The Faculty Head of Teaching, Learning and Student Experience is a Professional Services role, providing strategic and specialist advice to the Faculty Leadership Team. The role holder will work closely with senior Academic and Professional Services leaders across all Faculty schools and the University’s Directorate for Student Experience to ensure consistency of policy, processes and structure and to embed best practice.

The role holder is accountable to the Deputy Director of Faculty Operations for managing and directing the overall provision of Teaching, Learning and Student Experience (TLSE) activities for the Faculty, leading and managing the Student Service, Support and Development Team and the eLearning Team. The role holder will also lead strategic TLSE focused projects for the Faculty and contribute to TLSE leadership across the institution.
- Student Service, Support and Delivery encompasses Quality Assurance and Enhancement; Appeals, Complaints and Discipline; Scheduling and Projects, and Education Development, Policy, Procedure and Practice.
- eLearning encompasses support for and development of digital education and learning design.
