As part of Risk Management and Compliance, you are at the centre of keeping JPMorgan Chase strong and resilient. You will join Climate Risk Management team responsible for developing the firm's approach to climate-related risk management, including both transition and physical risks. You will bring strong data, research and communication skills to support the build-out of climate risk capabilities across the firm. You will interact with variety of internal counterparts across the firm, learning about the many aspects relevant in assessing the potential implications of climate change on a large and global financial institution..

Your strong track record of ownership and accountability will be key to the success of this role. By participating in a large-scale initiatives with high impact you will demonstrate relationship building skills and ability for execution.

**Job responsibilities**
- Develop climate impact models, analytics, and cost functions that can support the assessment of climate change in terms of impacts, adaptation, and vulnerabilities
- Integrate climate change impacts into the integrated assessment modelling framework to allow studying mitigation (e.g. technological or policy), residual climate impacts and adaption in economic, energy, water, and land systems
- Design or enhance internal climate (physical risk) scenarios and expand scenario variables to meet internal stakeholders' requirements
- Interrogate, assess and choose appropriate models from external parties, including vendors
- Coordinate with central data and modelling teams to source required data, develop climate scenario models, and determine how to best integrate climate risk data into BAU risk models

**Required qualifications, capabilities and skills**
- Significant work experience in integrated assessment, energy and climate policy, climate science, or related fields
- A master degree or higher in a field related to integrated assessment modelling including economics, engineering, environmental science or energy systems
- Strong technical understanding of climate-related chronic physical risks including water stress, land degradation, soil health and transmission channels within an economy
- Demonstratable work experience with climate scenarios, e.g. NGFS, IEA, IPCC SSP-RCPs, etc.
- Proficient with coding in various languages; Python/R experience a plus
- Experience with an optimization framework (e.g. GAMS) is strongly preferred
- Ability to work effectively and gain credibility and respect of others. Lead and persuade others while positively influencing the outcome of team efforts

**Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills**
- Experience in leading (scientific) projects
- Understanding of climate related transition impacts on macro-economic variables
