I am looking to speak with a well experienced Senior / Principal Geotechnical Engineer (Rail) that specialises in detailed design within the Kidderminster area. This opportunity offers the chance to work on some really interesting/complex Geotechnical projectsbut being situated within a small team giving you a wide variety of responsibility and heavy exposure within all aspects of the project.

As a Senior / Principal Geotechnical Engineer (Rail), you will be sat directly under the Director mentoring junior geotechnical design engineers, taking a lead on projects, working with and maintaining relationships with the likes of network rail and localcontractors. You will not only be taking a technical lead on projects, but you will also be helping manage projects on a commercial and financial basis.

It will be expected as a Senior / Principal Geotechnical Engineer (Rail) that you have strong geotechnical design/analytical capability in relation to slope stability, retaining walls, pile design, anchors, soil nails, foundations, drainage.

Projects typically include the inspection and assessment of embankments, cuttings, retaining walls, culverts, and drainage assets predominantly within the rail network.

Senior / Principal Geotechnical Engineer (Rail) Specification:

- Bachelor's Degree and Masters/MEng in geotechnical/civils discipline
- ICE chartered or near to chartered
- At least 5 years' experience within Geotechnical design, preferably on rail schemes.
- Experience in the design and specification of remedial solutions and preparation of options.
- Ability to identify and assess defects/instability features in earthworks, retaining walls and drainage systems
- Knowledge of industry standard software (e.g. Slope/W, WALLAP, REPUTE, TEDDS, AutoCAD etc.)
