We are looking to recruit additional staff to the post of Revenue Officer to work in the Finance department of the council. The Revenue section is responsible for maximising the council’s income through the collection of Council Tax and Business Rates.

The job will involve maintaining the records of 66,000 households liable to pay Council Tax and 5,500 commercial properties that pay Business Rates through accurate billing.

Having an eye for detail coupled with the ability deal with a variety of tasks, often at the same time is key in keeping the risk of fraud to a minimum while assisting the council reach its income collection target.the ability to manage and prioritise work will be crucial in achieving this goal.

The successful applicant is likely to have experience of working as part of a team in a customer focused role and can demonstrate they have worked alongside staff across internal departments, external agencies, stakeholders, or have a similar working background.
