**What is the Internship Placement?**

In your intern placement here at EDF you will working within the Heysham 1 Power Station Outage function with a particular focus on supporting the team during the planning and preparation phase.

During the summer Heysham 1 power station will be preparing for a Reactor Shutdown Outage which is scheduled to start on Monday 2nd October. This is a £20m+ project with resources totalling 1000+ carrying out a range of maintenance and inspection activities.

The start date for this internship is to be confirmed.

**What you can expect**:
To help successfully prepare for this project you will be able to:

- Conduct plant walk downs and prepare work packages ahead of the maintenance.
- Engage with contract partners to discuss finances, safety strategy and supply chain capability.
- Support the risk management strategy by developing risks and mitigations.
- Help to co-ordinate readiness reviews to ensure work packages can be delivered safely and efficiently with no delays.

You will benefit from working on a nuclear facility gaining first-hand experience of plant and process engineering.

**Where you’ll work**:
This opportunity will be based on-site at Heysham 1 Power Station.

**What you’ll need to apply**:

- Expected final grade of 2:2 or above in your degree discipline, project management, risk management / project engineering
- A highly organised and proactive individual with an ability to work both part of a team and independently.
- Ability to identify risks and propose effective solutions to resolve problems.
- Prioritising and working to tight timescales.
- Excellent communication, influencing and organisational skills.
