Stanmore College is a further education college in the London Borough of Harrow with an Ofsted rating of ‘Good’. It delivers education and training programs to young people and adults.

We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic individual to be a member of the Student Services Team who will focus on providing information, advice and support to all students including care experienced students. The postholder will also be a member of the Safeguarding Team.

You will have excellent administrative, interpersonal and communication skills and be qualified to Level 3.

**Salary**: £29,227 - £31,466 FTE per annum

£26,938.53 - 29,002.21 per annum (Term Time Only Salary)

**REPORTING TO**:Pastoral Support Manager**

**Job Summary**

The primary purpose of this role is to be an integral part of the Student Services Team, providing an effective and responsive support service to all students, to ensure they are able to overcome any barriers that may impact on their learning and development. Act as the College ‘Designated Teacher’ for students who are care experienced.

**Main Activities**
- Act as the first point of contact providing an advisory service on a range of issues including financial assistance, housing and mental wellbeing.
- Track, monitor and support students who are care experienced ensuring that the college meets its statutory responsibilities for looked after children and care leavers.
- Monitor the attendance of care experienced students ensuring that absence is recorded and actioned as appropriate.
- To support the College statutory responsibilities for safeguarding and wellbeing, acting as one of the Safeguarding Officers and Mental Health first aiders.
- Manage a caseload of students and make referrals to a range of external agencies including wellbeing services, children’s social care, CAMHs and police where appropriate.
- Administer and allocate financial support via the Learner Support Fund and other funding sources as appropriate.
- Deliver sessions and activities as part of the college wider personal development programme including national and local awareness events.
- Use college information systems including ProMonitor, Pay My Student, and MyConcern maintaining confidential and accurate information.
- Continually develop methods to monitor and measure the effectiveness of the service and the impact to inform quality improvements.
- To act as one of the College first aiders.
- Taking personal responsibility for supporting, promoting, and following all College policies in relation to health and safety, safeguarding, equality and diversity and data protection within the scope of the post.

The postholder is liable to undertake such other duties as may reasonably be required, commensurate with the grade, at the present place of work or at any other site on which the College may operate.
