**What you would do as our Group Financial Assistant**:
The role will focus on providing day-to-day support to the Finance Director by carrying out all day-to-day financial procedures and outputs within the business, such as Bank Control, Payroll, Payments, Pension Administration, HMRC Compliance including VAT, CIS, and submission within the timelines required etc. Taking appropriate and corrective action on all issues relevant to the role and due process whilst recording and communicating these to your line manager.

**You would also**:

- Running of the weekly and monthly payroll process ensuring the Days/Hours worked by employees is collated and converted into Sage payroll with absolute accuracy to capture any additions or deviations from basic pay rates. This exercise is to be run in conjunction with HR to ensure a cross check and balance and as such avoiding subsequent adjustments to payroll.
- Ensure monthly PAYE/NIC schedules are completed along with annual returns (P14/P60/P11)
- Produce the quarterly bonus calculation for all staff eligible within the scheme, considering criteria’s set for percentage deductions.
- Make payments to sub-contractors, record payments on CIS payment certificate to be issued to the sub-contractors monthly and submit the CIS return to HMRC.
- Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts at month end. In particular, Customer prepayments account, Customer overpayments account, Goods received not invoiced account, Work in Progress Account, Inter Company Accounts.

**The skills and experience you need**:
We are looking for someone who:

- Has previous experience in a similar role.
- Is AAT level qualified or has proven experience and would like to undertake qualification.
- Possess a strong attention to detail and excellent numerical skills.
- Is proficient in using MS Excel, Sage and SAP.
- Has good communication skills both written and verbal and ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
