If this sounds like you then this may be a perfect time to consider becoming a Night Porter in our Wisbech based Supported Living scheme. Wisbech HRS provides support for vulnerable adults and is now looking for a Night Porter who can join our team, support our customers and help to improve lives. This role is based locally in the town centre and easily accessible from surrounding areas. We are open to consider applicants from individuals interested in working 4 on 4 off nights shifts from multiple industry sectors (Eg, Care, Security, Manufacturing) that would be interested in making a positive impact to our customers lives.

When you start your career with us as a Night Porter your role will be incredibly important. You’ll be responsible for ensuring people’s safety and the security of the scheme. Wisbech HRS provides accommodation for up to 25 young people aged 16-25, who are homeless who have support needs, including those with alcohol, drug or mental health problems. Staff are onsite 24/7hours a day 365 days per year offering intensive move-on advice and support with the aim of reaching independence, finding work and accommodation.

This is a varied role whereby you will be providing support for vulnerable adults who may have mental health and drug dependency issues, you will be expected to build relationships with them and help them with their individual needs. You will be interacting with them daily and supporting them, reporting any issues to the Team Leader and keeping a log of any events and happenings at the scheme. At times you may need to deal with challenging situations and show resilience to enable you to overcome these, remaining calm and professional throughout. You will also be expected on occasions to liaise with the emergency services and complete incident reports if required.

You will also be responsible for site walkarounds, interacting with our residents or monitoring CCTV, there are many things to do each night. You’ll be involved with Health and Safety inspections, matters of compliance, and help to maintain our records. You will also assist with rent account management and play a key role within our busy team.

This role is conditional upon receipt of two satisfactory references (one from your current employer).
