Midwifery Workforce Matron

We are looking for an exceptional midwife leader who is innovative and committed to making a real difference to the midwifery workforce.

You will be an experienced midwife who has held previous leadership roles and possess a proven record of delivering improvement projects, have experience of change management and can demonstrate ongoing professional development.

You will act as an expert on recruitment and best practice, supporting the Lead Midwife for Practice Development and Education to deliver on the programmes of work related to midwifery workforce, recruitment and retention. Working closely with midwifery teams and HR colleagues on workforce development, you will lead on projects to develop new roles, innovative ways of working, and programmes to support both local and international recruitment and retention of staff.

You will have the ability to interpret and analyse data and provide reports and papers, requiring basic IT skills in Word and Excel as a minimum. Delivering reports is a significant part of this role and you will therefore need to be articulate and confident to deliver presentations to a diverse group of staff.

To be successful, you will need to demonstrate enthusiasm, with strong leadership and people management skills. You will be an excellent communicator, skilled at building relationships and influencing teams with the ability work autonomously, prioritising and organising your workload.
