**Job Description**:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Consultant Pediatric Ophthalmologist to join our team of dedicated medical professionals. As a Consultant Pediatric Ophthalmologist, you will be responsible for providing expert care to infants, children, and adolescents with a wide range of eye conditions and visual disorders. You will play a crucial role in diagnosing, treating, and managing pediatric ophthalmic conditions, ensuring the best possible outcomes for our young patients.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Diagnose and treat pediatric eye disorders and visual impairments, including but not limited to strabismus, amblyopia, pediatric cataracts, congenital anomalies, refractive errors, and retinopathy of prematurity.

2. Perform comprehensive eye examinations and assessments to evaluate vision, eye alignment, and ocular health in pediatric patients.

3. Develop individualized treatment plans tailored to the unique needs of each child, incorporating a multidisciplinary approach when necessary.

4. Provide medical and surgical interventions as appropriate, including prescribing glasses, contact lenses, patching therapy, orthoptic exercises, and performing pediatric eye surgeries.

5. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including pediatricians, neonatologists, geneticists, and allied healthcare providers, to coordinate care and optimize outcomes for pediatric patients with complex medical conditions.

6. Educate parents, caregivers, and patients about pediatric eye health, treatment options, and the importance of early intervention in promoting visual development and preventing long-term complications.

7. Participate in teaching and mentoring activities for medical students, residents, and fellows, contributing to the education and training of future pediatric ophthalmologists.

8. Engage in clinical research and scholarly activities to advance knowledge in the field of pediatric ophthalmology and contribute to the development of innovative therapies and treatment modalities.

Qualifications and Requirements:
1. Medical degree (MD or equivalent) from an accredited institution.

2. Board certification or eligibility in Ophthalmology.

3. Fellowship training in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus from a recognized program.

4. Valid medical license to practice as an Ophthalmologist.

5. Demonstrated expertise in the diagnosis and management of pediatric eye disorders.

6. Excellent clinical judgment, communication skills, and bedside manner.

7. Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care.

8. Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.

9. Willingness to engage in teaching, research, and scholarly activities.

10. Minimum 2 years experience as a consultant in the UK.

Pay: £99,532.00-£131,964.00 per year
