Production Planner

Construction Metal Forming (CMF) are a specialist designers, manufacturers, innovators and installers of profiled MetFloor, metal decking, industrial building systems and associated cold-formed steel construction products.
Due to continued success over the past 12 months, we are currently recruiting for experienced Production Planner for our Mamhilad (Pontypool) site.
The purpose of the role is to plan production schedules and optimise resource utilisation to meet customer requirements for quality and delivery. You will also coordinate, communicate and report production and workflow to other internal functions and personnel.
**Main Duties Include**:
Plan production daily to meet customer demand and target stock levels directing work through the Team Leaders/ Supervisors
Prepare bookings/schedule and ensure that they are fit for purpose in terms of clarity of information and instruction - Great to keep
Maintain ordering system to ensure smooth changeovers and to maximise efficiency
Maximise capacity/efficiency through efficient resource utilisation
Ensure production targets and quality standards are achieved
Plan workload to minimise scrap
With Maintenance Manager and Maintenance Technician ensure all maintenance is planned in at optimum times; work with maintenance team to ensure machinery is capable of meeting production needs
To check purchase orders for material both in terms of correct width, tonnage as well as the technical specification
To inform on orders complete for despatch and to consider the implications of transport costs and delivery times
To take part in any continual improvement programmes
Promote Health, Safety and Environmental best practice
Dual manage both old and new manufacturing plans while we implement an ERP system
**Attention to detail is a must have**
Hours of work are 08:30-1700 Monday to Friday / 42.5 hours per week.
After successfully completing the 3 month probation period you will be added to an early finish rota, an extra 30mins will be worked Monday-Thursday (08:00-17:00 or 08:30-17:30) which will allow a 14:30 finish on Friday.
Every 1 in 9 Fridays you will require to work until 17:00 to cover. It has a competitive salary of 22,000 per annum dependant on experience + quarterly bonus scheme which is dependant on tonnage/HS. 0-10% of annual wage.
