**About the role**:
Job Title: Junior UX Designer

Reports to: Senior UX Designer

Purpose: To support the design of digital user experiences that meet strategic ecommerce
objectives while also creating a useful, intuitive, and memorable web experience. You will
work in collaboration with key project stakeholders and web development to make the UX
more user-friendly and intuitive to attract and retain customers.
- Requirements:

- Relevant degree within design, for example Digital Design or Visual Communication
- Work experience not essential but advantageous
- Knowledge of user research practices
- Main Responsibilities:

- Create & develop digital designs & wireframes to communicate a vision of proposed

changes to the UX of the ecommerce web platform.
- Contribute new ideas to the UX team that would improve the overall UX of the

ecommerce web platform.
- Present research to the UX team in relation to competitors, usability and customer

experience to ensure that we have the best possible UX of the ecommerce web
platform
- Ability to provide solutions to design obstacles and show iterations of the design

process
- Strong communication skills are key to ensure the vision of our change is clearly

conveyed to key stakeholders
- Work collaboratively with the web development and testing team to support the

transition of proposed changes from prototype through to implementation.
- Collaborate with Marketing, Web Development & to develop and support the schuh

digital design system.
- Support the wider schuh business on digital design as and when required.
- Technical Skills:

- Good knowledge of UX design methodologies
- Good working knowledge of core Figma and/or Adobe products: Photoshop,

Illustrator

communicating face to face where possible.
- Be aware of department standards and adhere to at all times.
- Understand the layout of the Website Optimisation Team and the wider Ecommerce

Department, including different teams and the Management structure.
- Acquire a wider knowledge of the rest of the business, including Head Office and

stores.
- Take responsibility for your own development and aim to understand all tasks and

processes.
- Work towards and achieve any goals / objectives set for you.
- Welcome the opportunity to gain experience in other areas of the business.
- Understand the needs of the department & business may vary from time to time and

aim to be as flexible as possible.
- Understand and comply with the Company’s Health and Safety policy and

procedures.
- Carry out further duties as required by the Company.

Junction 4 (J4) is our second and largest warehouse facility, situated off the M8 near Bathgate. The warehouse features state of the art technology and houses several head office departments.
