This is a great opportunity for a highly motivated and dedicated clinician to join a well established and highly specialist team.

The post will be based on Pegasus Ward providing services to young people who have a diagnosed Eating Disorder. In addition, the post holder will be required to work jointly with our other wards on site, Hercules Ward and Phoenix Ward providing consultation, expert opinion, direct work and care planning for young people presenting with complex eating difficulties.

The post is a training post for a three-year period however, on successful completion of the course, you will transfer into a permanent Advanced Clinical Practitioner post within the inpatient CAMHS team.

The Trainee ACP will provide advanced assessment, formulation and practice skills in relation to young people with eating disorders/complex eating difficulties and will provide physical health care assessment and intervention where needed and within scope of practice during the clerking in process as well as throughout the admission; This will include monitoring, intervention, and management of physical health including ECGs, blood taking alongside appropriate physical health care planning processes. The Trainee ACP will undertake Audits and Quality Improvement Projects

The post holder will be a senior clinician within the team working closely alongside MDT colleagues in particular the Ward Manager, Clinical Nurse Specialist and Consultant Psychiatrist to ensure development and contribution to relevant pathways and procedures ensuring high quality care is achieved for all inpatients.

They will ensure leadership responsibilities including providing high quality supervision and reflective practice sessions to junior members of the team. They will provide cover for the Ward Manager during periods of leave to always ensure consistent leadership. The ACP will contribute to the Senior Nurse on Site and 1ston call rotas.

You will be experienced and skilled at working with young people in inpatient services and be competent to work at an advanced level

Hopewood in Sherwood, Nottingham has 32 CAMHS Inpatient beds across 3 wards.

Pegasus Ward is a specialist eating disorder ward. We work mainly with young people experiencing typical Eating Disorders such as Anorexia Nervosa.

Hercules Ward is an 8 bedded psychiatric intensive care unit that works with young people experience severe and enduring mental health problems. Hercules Ward has admissions of young people who require support with complex eating difficulties.

Phoenix Ward is a 12 bedded general acute ward 24 hours a day, providing specialist services to young people aged 13 to 18, who are experiencing a range of mental health and emotional difficulties. including complex eating difficulties
