Category Assistant

East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust is looking to recruit a motivated, dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our Contracts team as a Category Assistant.. Our key objective is to deliver best value contracts and first-class procurement across a diverse range of healthcare and other products and services, whilst following best practice, compliant procurement.

We work closely with our clinical and operational colleagues and as such an important part of your role you will be to develop and manage relationships with key stakeholders, including our clinical and non-clinical teams, suppliers and other agencies. It will also include contributing to the development and achievement of the Trust's procurement strategy, work plan and efficiency and cash-releasing savings plans.

You will ideally be working towards or willing to work towards, Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) qualification and have a sound knowledge of EU procurement legislation.

Excellent IT, analytical and organisational skills together with the ability to demonstrate effective communication skills with high level executives and stakeholders will be paramount, as will your focus upon attention to detail and meeting challenging deadlines.
