We have an exciting opportunity to work as part of the newly formed Nurse Led IV Access Team providing clinical and administrative support to enhance the smooth running of the service.

Provide administrative support for new referrals and data collection of lines placed

Assist with the surgical ANTT set up for placing PICC’s or assist line placer as necessary to ensure smooth running of the procedure

Assist in performing various audits in clinical areas

Ensure clinical supplies are kept well stocked

Participate in the trust BoSCa programme

Participate in the feedback of IV Access Team audit and surveillance data to the IV Access Team in order that problem areas can be identified and remedial action taken

Participate in trust wide campaigns to raise awareness of IV Access initiatives and control practices

Develop working relationships with colleagues within the trust to support the development and delivery of the IV Access Team’s services

Deal promptly with telephone requests and relay information accurately to the appropriate professional within the IV Access Team

Promote safe practice in all aspects of IV access and therapy throughout the trust

Clinical duties include assisting in the set up of surgical ANTT procedures, preparing patients as directed by the line inserter and reviewing insertion sites post insertion for clinical abnormalities.

The post holder will be responsible for accurate documentation of new referrals to the IV Access team as well as updating activity spreadsheets, supporting in clinical audits and monitoring/ordering clinical supplies as necessary. You should have t he ability to present data and information in an easy to understand format, pay close attention to detail and have a methodical approach to tasks. You should have a good working knowledge of Excel and Word computing programs.
