**Senior Public Affairs Officer (Scotland)**

**Location**: Hybrid - Remote with travel to RICS Edinburgh office as and when required

**Job type**: Permanent

**Salary**: £40,000 to £45,000 DOE

**Job Purpose**

To deliver and win market demand for RICS professionalism in the form of thought leadership, standards, credentials and other professional outputs. The focus is on government leaders, policy makers, financial decision makers, corporate leaders, media and other influential opinion formers. In doing so, create positive change in the market and create demand for the growth of our profession.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Market and promote the adoption of RICS qualifications, standards and thought leadership by the defined audience segments
- Work with and influence government and private sector targets to both proactively and reactively ensure policy and business decisions are made with the best possible professional insight
- Creating a positive, supportive and empowering environment to enable the delivery of professional outcomes
- Working with teams across RICS in an open, planned and collaborative manner
- Be continually in touch with the market leaders, their needs and developments in the market and government that require RICS professionalism

**Experience / Skills Required**
- Demonstrable leadership skills
- Proven ability to develop relationships and work collaboratively
- Strategic thinking with delivery of related tactical projects and outcomes
- Proven track record of delivery in an international team environment
- Able to communicate effectively in writing, orally and with strong presentation and influential skills
- Demonstrable ability to succeed in a matrix environment
- Confident and motivated self-starter with a flexible and agile approach
