As a qualified advanced practitioner you will use a wide range of developed clinical skills to exercise responsibility for the delivery of diagnostic procedures, diagnostic results and patient care in a specialised or general area of work. You will maintain, evaluate and adapt aspects of the clinical imaging service as required.

To use acquired skills and knowledge to influence your own practice and that of others and to develop new and effective ways of working that improve the care of the patient and the daily running of the ultrasound department.

Support all members of the team within your direct span of responsibility in order to assist the delivery of the service and achieve individual and group objectives.

The post holder will develop their clinical leadership through involvement in the development of clinical practice in a specific area of expertise. Undertake and participate in research, audit and evidence-based practice. Evaluating results and disseminating them through education and teaching, using them to influence best clinical practice.

Provide support and act as a mentor to other radiographers, sonographers and student sonographers when necessary. Promoting and developing your specialty and actively participating in developing other roles and initiatives in the imaging field.

The department has just completed a significant equipment investment programme and is committed to training and the development of the profession.

This post is a bank post with flexible working hours. Our operational hours are Monday
- Friday between 8.30am-5pm, but there is potential to cover weekends.

Take responsibility for the welfare and comfort of the patient whilst under the care of the radiology department, prior, during and post the ultrasound examination. Ensure that they are kept informed of any factors, such as delays, that are likely to affect them.

Provide a high standard of ultrasound work, ensuring departmental standards and quality issues are observed.
