The role will allow you to work with different organisations in a multiagency environment, while knowing that you are supporting front line work in countering threats to our National Security.

You will report to a DS Deputy Controller within the DSU. However, much of your work will mean that you are speaking directly to senior officers and members of partner organisations.

You will have the confidence to provide advice and guidance both within one-to-one conversations and also in meetings.

The role provides very privileged access to the most sensitive information sources, therefore the ability to maintain complete operational security in connection with your work is essential.

**Responsibilities**:

- Ensure deadlines are met to prevent any breaches of RIPA and that documentation is stored in line with the appropriate handling restrictions.
- Prepare and assess Covert Intelligence management information reports in relation to RIPA authorities and the delivery/performance of associated assets.
- Support the Regional Head of HUMINT (RHoH) as directed in the preparation of reports, presentations for meetings.
- Perform the functions of Evidential Review Officer, Sensitive Disclosure Officer and manage the process in connection with letters of assistance, including their delivery to court.
- Perform the role of Operational Security Liaison Officer (OSLO) working closely with both the partner and CTPSE OPSY. This will include auditing tradecraft, finance, vehicles and other covert tactics, identifying improvements where possible.
- Work co-operatively with other CTPSE departments, external LEA, partner organisations and the Investigatory Powers Commissioner’s Office.

**Essential role based training**

- Ongoing CPD as required

**Required knowledge/skills**
**Essential**
- Substantive in rank
- Able to drive Police vehicles (no response training required)
- Ability to use TVP computer systems successfully

**Desirable**
- Previous experience in a Covert Authorities Bureau (CAB) or Sensitive Intelligence Unit (SIU)
- Previous experience working within a Dedicated Source Unit or other covert policing team

**Further Comments**:

- Prior to starting in this role, it is required that the post holder successfully obtain and maintain Developed Vetting (DV) Security Clearance, which will include a psychological assessment. Failure to achieve this will result in any offer being withdrawn.
- The role is predominantly office based and works an 8-4 Monday to Friday shift, although some flexibility will be required according to operational need.
- The post holder will need to have the ability to travel throughout the South East region and occasionally beyond. A vehicle will be made available for this travel.
- This post affords access to some of the most sensitive data held within CTPSE. It is therefore essential that complete operational security and discretion is observed.
