**What can you expect in your day-to-day role?**
As an experienced Finance Assistant, you will hold a key position within the company assisting both the Business Support Team and other departments. You will be guided throughout your journey with Fire Consultancy Specialists and trained accordingly in your role.

**Finance Assistant Duties**
- Answering and directing phone calls promptly and professionally.
- Updating ledgers
- Registering purchases and accounts payable
- Assisting in bank reconciliations
- Handling statutory returns (e.g., PAYE, VAT)
- Aiding in the preparation of cash flow statements
- Prepare financial documents and records for external audits, if required.
- Providing support in budgeting efforts
- Stay informed about advancements in accounting practices, technologies, and industry trends.
- Collaborate with other departments and team members to support overall business goals and objectives.
**Administrative Duties**
- Provide direct assistance to the Head of Business Support in various tasks.
- Assist in the preparation of regular reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Provide general support to senior staff members as required.
- Any additional responsibilities deemed appropriate to the role.
The Finance Assistant will play a crucial role in maintaining the organisation's efficiency and ensuring seamless communication and operations within the Business Support Team. If you possess these skills and are ready to contribute to our dynamic team, we encourage you to apply.
**What are the qualities and skills we are looking for?**
- A Full UK driving licence.
- Experience using the software Xero
- Handle financial information with utmost confidentiality and discretion.
- Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in bookkeeping or related financial roles.
- High attention to detail and excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- The ability to demonstrate a customer focused, proactive ‘can do’ attitude, flexible approach to working, and can work as part of a team
- Problem solving & decision-making skills, along with self-discipline and the ability to use your own initiative
- Capable of allocating the maximum effort to each task in the job divide.
- The ability to act with professionalism and integrity
- Perform effectively in high-pressure situations.
- Certification in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred.

**The role location**
This is a full-time role that will be office based. Our Head Office is in Nottingham NG12 therefore you will be expected to attend our Nottingham office Monday-Friday 08:00-16:00.
