**Working 36.5 Hours Per week**
**Grade 3 £23,194 - £29,439**

You will have familiarity with computer systems, working in a financial setting and a enjoy a busy team environment.

You will work closely with your team manager to ensure that daily objectives, targets, and work plans align directly with the service goals.

The post offers flexibility to work from home
The post is initially for 12 months but maybe extended.

You will be required to maintain an awareness of current legislation, policy and Guidance relating to Council Tax, Housing Benefits and Local Council Tax Support.

As a Benefits Officer you will be required to Identify, refer and record potentially fraudulent cases to the Single Fraud Investigation Services and or Internal Audit and Investigations section.

Your role will encompass day-to-day administration of Council Tax billing and benefits processes, whilst seeking to promote efficiency and continuous improvement.

The successful person will be expected to make a valuable contribution to the effectiveness and continued improvement and success of the service by regularly contributing ideas, suggestions and feedback to the Team Manager and at appropriate meetings or workshops

The Benefits Service's aims are to maximise income to citizens by awarding benefit promptly and accurately and promote the take up of relevant welfare benefits. To efficiently administer the Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support schemes thus enabling maximisation of Government subsidy whilst achieving service excellence, supporting our mission to reduce the % of households in fuel poverty and supporting citizens to maintain their tenancy and reduce potential homelessness.
