We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Procurement Officer to join our Procurement Team. Working proactively with all stakeholders to ensure efficient procurement and commissioning activity is undertaken. This role will be challenging, demanding, and a fantastic opportunity to work with our vastly experienced team.

**What you'll be doing**
- Analyse category spend across all divisions and develop tenders and specifications
- Conduct research for new components and suppliers.
- Negotiate contracts, improve prices and terms of business with suppliers and review opportunities to make business savings, obtain rebates through utilising negotiation and procurement best practice tools and methods
- Ensure compliance to company guidelines, purchasing policies and procedures and guidance during supplier negotiations and contracts award process to deliver measurable savings
- Act as an interface between suppliers and other relevant departments on purchasing processes and new projects and activities to implement into business.
- Understand and act in accordance with Van Elle’s policies and procedures
- Any other tasks that you may reasonably be required to undertake

**Who we're looking for**
- Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) or similar qualification or studying towards CIPS qualification would be beneficial
- Previous experience of working in a purchasing team preferably within a manufacturing or construction environment
- Good knowledge of purchasing, negotiation, commercial understanding and cost breakdown
- Experience of working closely with suppliers
- Demonstrates integrity, openness and honesty in all dealings
- Ability to build and maintain effective and productive relationships with staff, stakeholders and suppliers
- Good communicator, with strong negotiation, interpersonal and influencing skills
- Analytical, numerically astute with strong demonstrated problem solving abilities
- Ability to manage time effectively, prioritise tasks and achieve set targets
- To work well under pressure and handle emergency and stressful situations
- Keen attention to detail and accuracy

**Other Requirements**:

- Eligible to work and live in the UK.
- Flexibility to travel in the UK.
- A full driving licence, that is valid in the UK (desirable)
