Qualified Playworker

**NETHER GREEN JUNIOR**

**AFTER SCHOOL CLUB**

This post is for a level 2/3 playworker.

3-6pm Monday-Friday (15 hours). If the right applicant needs 16 hours for tax credit purposes, then you will start a little earlier each day to help with set up. We have possible overtime between 7.12-8.42am if interested.

Pay rate is dependant on childcare experience.

**Responsibilities and Duties**
- Providing full care for the children between close of school and their collection by parents and/or carers; including providing refreshments. Encouraging great play experiences.
- Assisting with moving of dining hall furniture at beginning and end of each session and cleaning of dining hall and toilets each day.
- Administering first aid as appropriate.
- Assisting with toileting if needed.
- Close liaison with parents, schools and other childcare and play-related agencies.
- Attending meetings as appropriate.
- Carrying out all responsibilities and activities within an equal opportunities framework.
- Working within agreed policies.

- An understanding of good quality childcare, play and its importance

- Ability to communicate at all levels
- Experience of working with 7-11 year olds
- Ability to meet children’s individual needs
- Ability to use judgement and common sense
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to use own initiative
- Ability to work flexibly
- Available to work all school year
- Safeguarding training (will be provided)
- Level 2 or above in Playwork/childcare/teaching
- A current first aid certificate or willing to train.
