Home-Start Dumfries seeks an experienced, self-motivated person to join our small friendly staff team, to provide a wide range of administrative support from our office in Dumfries. The role will include general office duties and supporting the team efforts administratively in obtaining the organisation’s objectives.

Home-Start Dumfries is setting up a service to provide practical and emotional support to struggling families. We recruit, train and support volunteers from the local community who will help families to build on their strengths and increase their potential to make changes to improve their lives.

You are a talented Administrator who is proactive, organised, enthusiastic and self-motivated.
You are a competent and confident communicator with relevant administration, data management and a flexible attitude to your role. - Strong administrative skills, good knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Experience of data management systems and reporting, including Excel
- Ability to work independently and use own initiative
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Good social and interpersonal skills, tact, diplomacy and judgement
- Experience of financial processes

Main Responsibilities:

- Management and triage of enquires and referrals for support
- Database management and preparing monthly / quarterly reports using Excel
- Support with event co-ordination and administration
- Providing assistance in the recruitment, training and management of volunteers
- Communicating with a wide range of people, including volunteers, families, referrers, stakeholders and potential funders
- Minute taking in team meetings and Board meetings
- Responsible for petty cash and assisting with staff payroll and volunteer expenses
- Inputting of all financial transactions into cashbook and monthly reconciliation of banking statements. Liaising with the Treasurer on all related financial matters
- Assisting the co-ordinators to maintain efficient, accurate and confidential records, including statistics collection and collation.
- Responsibility for management of all social media platforms, including creating daily content to engage/grow followers

You will need:

- A solid foundation in Microsoft Office packages
- Ability to multitask, remain calm under pressure and work well within a small team
- Competence in using social media
- A resourceful, proactive attitude with high attention to detail, to seek solutions and take ownership of allocated tasks
- An approachable, friendly attitude

**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 18 per week

**Salary**: £23,970.00-£25,320.00 per year
