**Job Description**:
Key accountabilities of the role include:

- Advocacy: Championing the role of user research across our global business so that key stakeholders understand why research is important, how it will deliver value, and how it can be effectively targeted to a range of business and customer problems.
- Leadership: Leading the user research function within the wider Brambles user experience team so that the team recognise that they have a voice and know who to go to in times of need;
- Practice: Ensuring that high standards in both qualitative and quantitative research are maintained across the team and organising suitable training wherever gaps are identified within the department;
- Growth: Setting goals for all team members and tracking these across the annual cycle to ensure that all members of the team have a clear plan, path of progression and are happy in their day-to-day jobs;
- Operations: Be responsible for the establishment of a world class research operations function across the department so that practice and process are maintained, and key insights not lost across the business. This will include the selection and creation of suitable research repositories and coordinating the contents of these across other key business units (for example, customer experience and sales divisions)
- Strategy: Working closely with the UX Chapter Lead to ensure the successful delivery of the UX strategy and support the successful day to day running of an ambitious and growing global UX function.

The successful applicant will need to demonstrate a flexible approach to the roll out of research programmes across a range of global initiatives. This will involve recognising the different stages that design and development initiatives are at, as well as the various views and perspectives that key stakeholder groups will bring to the table.

Authority/ Decision Making

The UX Research Team Lead, working closely with the UX Lead, will have the authority for:

- All people related decisions (e.g., hiring and firing) within the user research team in association with UX Lead;
- Resourcing decisions of personnel across various programmes of work and the right to reallocate staff as required by the needs and demands of a project.
- Input to annual budgets for the UX department, specifically pertaining to user research (including the usage of third-party research parties and participant recruitment approaches). Plus, equipment and software required for user research team.

**Qualifications**:
What formal qualifications are “must haves” and what qualifications would be valued but are not essential. State what the role requires, not what the post holder brings to the role.

Essential Qualifications

Ideally degree educated or equivalent industry experience. We recognise that user researchers come from a huge range of backgrounds and as such your degree may not be in a related field.

However, you can demonstrate knowledge of UX Research and have significant experience as a practitioner, plus managing and mentoring a team of researchers.

You likely have 10+ years of experience in this capacity.

Desirable Qualifications

A degree, masters or PhD in one or more of the following;
Human Centred Design, Human Factors, Human-computer interaction, Psychology, Statistics or applied statistics, Computer science, Information systems, Design, Anthropology.

15+ years of experience in user research.

Experience
- Demonstration of leadership and mentoring of user research staff and their personal development;
- Ability to demonstrate applied research in a range of different design contexts and environments from early proposition development through to optimisation and iteration of existing live products.
