This is a Fixed term post for 12 months
- A new and exciting role has arisen to work within GGC Specialist Children’s Services - Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS). We are looking for a caring and compassionate individual with great communication skills, who has the interest/experience/knowledge of working with young people (and their families) that are experiencing difficulties in relation to their mental health, neurodevelopmental disorders, eating disorders and complex social care needs.- Under supervision and in collaboration with our team, the post holder will have a wide range of opportunities that will allow them to:

- Assist other clinicians with emergency assessments and support.- Joining other clinicians for assessment and assist in safety planning.
- Support and empower the young person and their families in their recovery during times of crisis.

Contribute to a CAMHS wider assessment.
- Provide individualised time-limited treatments such as meal time management which acknowledge and respect the young person’s rights and needs, whilst promoting dignity and independence.
- Work collaboratively with patients (and their carers) to enable them to contribute to care planning.
- Establish a positive culture and approach, which supports the development of each individual’s coping strategies.
- Provide first line telephone support to referrers including acute sites, police, SAS and OOH GP’s, gathering demographics and passing to relevant services.
- This post is full time, within Unscheduled CAMHS, offering 37.5 hours per week, working to provide a service within the community that operates 7 days a week, Monday to Sunday - 24/7. The service is based within WGACH/Stobhill, however, as a service, we do provide care that would see the successful post holder travelling to different locations such as the MHAU, acute sites and young person’s home/school.
- An ability to carry out assigned tasks effectively in a busy environment is required and the post holder requires to demonstrate an ability/willingness to work towards achieving the competencies identified in ‘Essential CAMHS’.
- Participation in regular clinical supervision with a named Community Mental Health Nurse / community Staff Nurse or other suitable Nurse. Actively participating in education and learning which are both essential and desirable to the role and indeed, with one’s own continual personal development.
- Previous experience in a caring environment/role is extremely advantageous alongside an ability to work with people and as part of a multi-disciplinary team. As mentioned, the role will include an aspect of physical health monitoring and intervention and eating disorder interventions this requires the post holder to have completed / working towards completing these competencies.
- The post holder requires an ability to work unsupervised and therefore hold effective written and verbal communication skills alongside the use of IT systems such as EMIS.
- Full Driving Licence is required as the service covers all of GGC daily.
