The Junction Sports and Leisure Centre are offering a unique opportunity for individuals to complete a
12 Month contract of ‘Up-skilling’ here in Broadstone, Poole. The role is perfect for anyone aged 16+
wanting to gain qualifications to start their career within the leisure industry whilst earning a Full-Time
wage. Our Recreational Assistants are the heartbeat of the centre ensuring that the service delivered to
our customers is of the highest standard possible. You will be involved in; Swim assisting within our
excelling swim academy, assisting dryside coaching activities and eventually leading the delivery of
children parties.
- National Pool Lifeguard Qualification

(NPLQ)
- Manual Handling at Work Qualification
- Safeguarding Children & Vulnerable

Adults Qualification
- First Aid/Emergency Aid Qualification
- COSHH Training (The Control of

Substances Hazardous to Health)
- Customer Service Qualification
- Level 2 Health and Safety Qualification
- STA Swim Helpers Award

YOU WILL COMPLETE MANDATORY QUALIFICATIONS/TRAINING WHICH WILL EXPLODE YOUR
CV AND GIVE YOU THE BEST START TO LIFE WITHIN THE LEISURE INDUSTRY, SUCH AS:
The role will be an initial 12 month contract. Applicants will need to be aged 16+.
National minimum wage structures will apply. Applicants will need to either hold or be
willing to complete a National Pool Lifeguarding Qualification to obtain this role.

AS WELL AS THE OPPORTUNITY TO COMPLETE SHADOWING/TRAINING IN AREAS SUCH AS
THE GYMNASIUM, RECEPTION/FRONT OF HOUSE AND OUR LICENSED BAR.

**OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE**:

- Setting up and taking down of sports equipment
- Working closely with our Gym Instructors to ensure exceptional

cleanliness of the Gymnasium
- Lifeguarding our 20 metre Swimming Pool
- Casual day to day cleaning duties
