**_ The working pattern for this position will be based on 37.5 hours per week from February to November and 18.75 hours per week between December and January each year. _**

**What you’ll be doing**

When you join our team as a General Assistant, each working day will be varied, depending on the needs of our centre. Therefore, you will be adaptable to the changing environment of our learning location and be happy to help where required.

It may mean that you need to assist the catering team help serve food to our guests, or alternatively help support the cleaning of guest rooms with our housekeeping team.

This an active role, so if you like to be kept busy and where no two days will be this same, this role would be ideal for you

The Field Studies Council Blencathra centre is in a magnificent setting, with unrivalled views of the Lake District. **Imagine taking in these surroundings on your lunchbreak**

We have easy access to a variety of excellent field sites enabling us to provide inspiring learning courses on all aspects of the natural world. This allows us to welcome over 9,000 visitors each year from schools, colleges, universities, and other organisations.

Our visitors come from all over the UK, and for many it is their first trip to the Lake District World Heritage Site. We love what we do, and we think you’ll love being here too
