**Please note, this role has changing hours as highlighted below**:

- ** Term Time Hours = **Mon-Fri / 2.50pm - 6.00pm (16 hours)
- ** Non-Term Time =** Mon-Fri / 9.15am - 2.45pm (27.5 hours)

**The role**

Are you the type of person who wants to roll up their sleeves and get involved with crafts and sports? Do you want to help support children through music therapy? Do you want to be involved with organising and delivering trips such as, beach days and days out? Then this could be the perfect role for you

At Centre 56, the purpose of this role is to provide a high standard of educational, physical, social and emotional care for children, who have experienced domestic abuse, or have had other adverse childhood experiences attending the Afterschool Club.

In conjunction with the Children’s Support Manager, you will be responsible for organising a programme of activities for children aged 5 - 12 years, as part of an afterschool club and holiday periods.

**The right fit**
- Level 2 or 3 play/youth worker qualification or above or the equivalent childcare qualification preferred but not essential
- You will hold a Paediatric first aid certificate & Level 2 food hygiene certificate or willingness to obtain them once in the role.
- You will have excellent knowledge of child protection and safeguarding responsibilities
- You will have prior experience of delivering childcare and play activities for a range of ages and different development needs
- You will also have experience of working with children aged 5-12 years and demonstrate an ability to recognise, understand and meet the diverse needs of individual children and families
- You will have the ability to behave consistently in a calm, caring manner with the children whilst implementing age-appropriate behaviour management techniques
- You will have the ability to adapt to changing situations and to be flexible with working hours
- Good oral and written communication skills is also essential
