Housing Solutions Officer

£18.63 per hour

Our client is looking for an experienced Housing Solutions Officer.

To understand the challenges and complexities around homelessness

today, the impact that homelessness has on families and single people,

and have a commitment to addressing housing issues and reducing

homelessness.
- To be responsible for the effective delivery of the Council’s statutory

investigation and assessment process for households who approach the

Council in housing need in accordance with the Homeless Reduction

Act 2017. This will involve a statutory assessment of their

circumstances and providing the appropriate housing solution.
- To deliver services which effectively prevent rough sleeping and support

vulnerable people away from the street and into safe accommodation.
- To manage and support more complex, sensitive or high risk cases such

as those fleeing violence, mental health and high risk offender by

arranging case conferences with the relevant agencies.
- To ensure decisions are made in accordance with legislation, case law

and local policies.
- To be responsible for dealing with a range of cases, including complex

enquiries.
- To have a comprehensive and up-to-date knowledge of relevant

legislation, policy and procedures on homelessness and to provide

innovative advice and solutions when dealing with complex and difficult cases.

To be a confident, engaging communicator, able

to positively handle contact with clients from a

range of backgrounds and with complex needs.
- Ability to work as part of a team, and with

colleagues at all levels so as to provide a

seamless service
- Proven ability to work with several software

Microsoft and database use.
- Ability to manage competing work demands

methodically to achieve targets and meet

changing demands and priorities, with minimum

supervision
- Ability to interview applicants, gather and analyse

complex information, identify problems, and to

provide appropriate solutions to issues

and prevent homelessness using all processes and procedures
