Your role as a VFX intern during your 12 month internship is to grow your knowledge and passion for real-time effects. With guidance, you will begin to integrate these effects into our projects. **You must have an inspiring and exciting VFX portfolio of educational or personal projects.**

**Responsibilities**:

- With feedback and guidance from VFX leads; create, implement and iterate real-time particle effects using both static and animating 2D/3D elements.
- Begin to develop an understanding of best practices, production pipelines and workflows.
- Reference game design documents to gain an understanding of the project.
- Track and update the progress of day-to-day tasks using JIRA.
- Collaborate with project team on task direction and quality of own work.
- Assist with optimisation and debugging to fix the issues.
- Begin to learn Perforce for day-to-day task management.

**Requirements**:

- **You are completing a university placement year, are a career switcher or an aspiring VFX artist with mínimal Game Development industry experience.**:

- **You have a VFX portfolio containing personal or educational projects.**:

- You're a self-learner with a passion and excitement for game development and VFX.
- You have used a game engine particle system editor in your projects.
- Your portfolio projects use Houdini’s Particle Simulation or EmberGen.
- Basic knowledge of 2D particle texture creation.
- Basic knowledge of Photoshop, Substance Designer or other 2D packages.
- Willing to translate concept and reference artwork into real-time particle effects.
- Willing to learn 3d software such as 3D Studio Max, Maya, and Blender.
