Payroll Assistant

Due to a rapid increase in business, our client is urgently seeking a Payroll Assistant to be based at our office in Chigwell. In this role, you will be using Merit software to input data and process people's hours, payslips and payrolls. You will need tobe customer-focused and have fantastic attention to detail. Have exceptional multitasking and time management skills.
This is an amazing opportunity to become part of a growing team in an expanding business. A prospect to challenge yourself in an exciting role in a fast-paced environment.
There is already a customer service team that will focus on day-to-day client enquiries, so this role is solely to use Merit software to process payroll.
You will be part of a hardworking and friendly team, who enjoy socialising together.
Main duties will include:
- Processing high-volume payroll including statutory payments & deductions
- Responsible for the checking of new start information
- Run weekly reports in preparation for the monthly payrolls
- Responsible for a wide range of payroll queries
- Ensuring payroll tasks are fully completed and signed off
- Liaising with umbrella companies
- Assisting with month-end processes
Must have the following skills/experience:
Merit software, Inputting timesheet information (Hours, Rates of pay)
Experience in conducting audits and reconciliations
Track record of delivering results with deadlines
Documenting information in accurate summaries and supplying regular documentation
