**RECRUITMENT OF PARKING ENFORCEMENT OFFICER**

**16 hours per week (including weekends)**

**SCP 7 (£10.60 P/H)**

Oswestry is a traditional market town on the Wales / England Border with a population of 18,000. We are a busy and ambitious Town Council who deliver a wide range of services and events.

You will work as part of a team in enforcing local road traffic regulations covering the Town Council Car Parks; Central, Smithfield & Horsemarket.

The Role of the Parking Enfocement Officer includes:

- Regularly check machines and equipment on all pay and display car parks operated by the Council, i.e. ticket levels etc.,
- Carry out general upkeep and cleaning of the machines.
- Record and report any major faults immediately to the Operations Manager.
- Patrol all car parks as directed by the Operations Manager and check all vehicles for the display of valid tickets.
- Issue penalty notices where necessary ensuring the information provided is correct and legible.
- Patrol car parks and access points ensuring that vehicles are parked in accordance with applicable Traffic Orders.
- Where necessary, to assist with changing of cash boxes and counting of cash.
- To always dress in the appropriate uniform as provide by the Council.
- To wear body camera and operate in accordance with procedures.
- Ensuring any footage captured on body camera is passed onto the Operations Manager at the earliest opportunity.
- To conduct self in a manner appropriate for a Town Council employee.

**Job Types**: Permanent, Part-time
